Course Introduction：

The lecturer is Ricardo Ruivo, Associate Professor at the International Demonstration School at SEU, and previously lecturer at the Architectural Association in London. The course connects the fields of Art, Architecture and Urban and Territorial Planning. It focuses on the Soviet Avant-garde, and how many of its core ideas and practices are deeply influential in modern and contemporary architectural and urban culture, in different ways, in many parts of the world: from the West, to post-colonial states, to the history of architecture in modern China. The course was previously taught at the Architectural Association, always being very popular with students, and appreciated for covering this mostly unknown history and its legacy in both breath and detai.
